'Excision' in Skirting Around

Delighted to read at the launch evening and have my poem ‘Excision’ in Issue 2 of the literary magazine Skirting Around. Skirting Around looks at the politics of women's clothing through creative writing and visual art - exploring how it can empower and endanger, enlighten and entrap, oppress and liberate. As the title suggests it also aims to tap into larger issues surrounding women’s clothing including body shaming, victim blaming, sexism, rape culture, transgender issues, feminism, empowerment, religious clothing and clothing that has been banned.

Issue 2 presents new writing exploring the politics and emotions of women's clothes and the bodies beneath them. With Undercover Operation as the theme it hosts some delightfully daring pieces of writing to share with you all.
